Twist out and remove pipe from top of pump that is from reservoir hose.
You can see the new GM pump just behind it in the vise. Install pipe in exact same position and direction into the new pump. The depth of the hole in new pump is a little different but will still need to be pressed into place using hammer and  pliers on the shoulder of pipe. I will also be adding a little jb weld to the pipe/pump mating surface to help keep it more secure. Not sure it needs it , but I like to be safe!

In the picture to the left, you can see the pipe installed in the new pump.
I am using a GM Delco remanufactured steering pump from a 94 Cadillac Deville. GM part number is 88959420. It turns the opposite dirction of the original LT1/LT4 F body steering pump.
Tighten the pulley until it is just shy of  1.5 mm, and the shaft  should be bottomed out in the pulley bore. This is the same distance as the original pulley as you can see in the next picture.
Both pump are exact same dimension and have exact same size pressure pipe fitting.  It just spins the other way to pump fluid!
